Metro Detroit Against Metrotimes (MDAMT): is a grassroots committee of the Sex Trafficking Think Tank to fight against the the existence of a local tabloid in Detroit Michigan that places sex ads selling practically nude women into the commercial sex trade.

The Detroit Metrotimes magazine (aka Detroit Misogyny Times magazine) is Capitalist Patriarchal propaganda machine. The Detroit Metrotimes magazine serves the Capitalist Patriarchal market place by publishing liberal propaganda and the sale of women’s bodies. Sex ads serve as a portal to sex trafficking.

The Detroit Metrotimes is an “alternative” newspaper could easily be called the Misogyny Times. It poses as if alternative means progressive, but really, it means disfunctional. The Detroit Metrotimes tabloid and internet web, carries ads in their Personal Service section that contain content like:

Pleasure Palace Massage Parlor! Golden Showers! Trans Sexual Brownie! Horny Local Girls! Girls that are guaranteed to make you Rock Hard! In and Out Calls! Nasty Girl Specials! Amanda Cox’s protruding butt with the symbol of a Star! And, the incessant strip club auction blocks ads!

These are just a few examples in the Metrotimes “Personal Service” section. The MDAMT finds Metrotimes sexist ads toward women to be: sexual harassment, hate speech, obscenity, solicitation, and lewd and inciting violence. Do you want your daughters growing up in a world where this is everywhere in the community, normalized as potential work? Do you want your sons calling up Trans Sexual Brownie? Do you want your kids performing Golden Showers on each other? Or, believing it is women’s natural place to be sold like livestock? No. I don’t think so.

According to a John from the worldsexguide.org/Detroit, in May of 1996, he claimed that the best place to look for Full-Service prostitution and Anal was in the Metrotimes “Personal Service” section. If the Metrotimes graphic-ads have followed the same trajectory as the porn industry, then the ads are most likely raunchier than days past.

We don’t put out alternative tabloids in black communities that have “Personal Service” sections devoted to selling black people using racist images. We used to sell black people in mainstream newspapers for Slavery and Minstrel Show “Entertainment” up until the early 1900’s, but we stopped doing that for ethical and legal reasons. Woman demand that these same ethical and legal standards apply to all-women & girls, all-the-time, everywhere.


The purpose of an archive of an ongoing longitudinal investigation of the Detroit Metrotimes (Misogyny Times) tabloid is to bring about public awareness of its sexual bigotry and contempt for women via its publication of sexist advertising. What the misogynistic Detroit Metrotimes does not seem to understand is that just because the women being sexually sold are receiving payment to be sexually abused, does not make it not sexual abuse. The women being sold for sex are not protected by sexual harassment laws, because it is their “job” to be sexually exploited.  Here ST3 explores by comparing and contrasting sexism in the ads with various forms racism in our patriarchal and Capitalist culture. The purpose is to make the reader aware of the different pornographic themes, along with juxtaposing those themes to similar forms of bigotry.  ST3 feels that this comparison is important because of the paradox of the severity of sexism and the extreme public acceptance and denial of it because women are so normalized as sub-human, and the paradox of the grand acceptance of it compared to other vulnerable groups vulnerable due to their race who are exploited often less than women but yet get draw much more public outrage when they are exploited than when women are exploited and discriminated against as a group. There is no other discriminated group of people whose inequality gets commodified / sold in the marketplace like that toward women. Black people used to be sold in the marketplace for slavery and Minstrel shows, but not anymore.  Today women’s vaginas, assholes, and tits, are sold to the highest bidder.  Society should not accept the commodification of women’s disparity, either.  The Metrotimes so-called progressiveness is manufactured as it is supported by the sex trade in women’s bodies.  ST3 believes that the Detroit Metrotimes sexually bigoted images and language is sexist, patriarchal, Capitalist, and Neo Liberal propaganda which incites violence upon women. THE HETEROSEXUAL LESBIAN ACT AT A STRIP CLUB AUCTION BLOCK 

The strip club heterosexual female lesbian sex displays much like the Abu Ghraib heterosexual Arab males gay-posing displays. The sexist so-called “entertainment” is what the bigoted Detroit Metro Times publishes. It is also interesting that the men’s genitalia is faded out, but the women’s is not. Consent is irrelevant, because consent doesn’t mean shit when based on lack of choice. The women don’t need to be held captive in literal prisons to be forced to perform some of the same degrading acts that prisoners are forced to perform because they are imprisoned in economic disparity, have outposts in their heads, and know how to prison-guard themselves.

My response to “Human trafficking survivor forum to be held in Detroit”on April 20, 2015, by Alysa Offman.

Since when is the Metro Times/Misogyny Times concerned about sex trafficking? The Metro Times/Misogyny Times publishes the most vile, sexist sex ads that sell naked women into legalized sex trafficking auction blocks, i.e., strip clubs, escorts, and Daddy’s Little Girl porn videos in their Marketplace section.

If the Metro Times published vile, racist race ads that presented blacks as in just a vile, objectifying, and degrading but in a racialized way, into legalized race trafficking auction blocks or Minstrel Shows in a Marketplace section of a tabloid or any section at all, the black community would call them out on it. No one would say that those who opposed the sale of blacks were racially repressed or racial prudes. No one should be for sale on the Market. It doesn’t matter whether the prostitution or strip club prostitution is legal or illegal in terms of so-called “legitimacy,” it is still sex trafficking and just as unethical as selling blacks to whites in a slave culture or Jews to Aryan racists in an anti-Semitic culture or plug in any other warped classist power dynamic into the scenario.

What kind of scumbags would pick out one particular group (in this case women) to sell and purchase in the year 2015? What kind of publication would promote male entitlement over women’s bodies in a rape culture? Hummm! What kind of morons would do this? The Metro Times in their Marketplace. Re: Grosse Pointe Park City Council Ordinance Review Meeting – Status of the Metro Detroit Against Metro Times and the Sex Trafficking Think Tank’s ordinance to get the Detroit Metro Times / Misogyny Times tabloid 2000 feet away from grade schools.

The Detroit Metro Times / Misogyny Times tabloid, publishes highly graphic and raunchy commercial sexist sex ads in their neo-liberal Marketplace section that sells naked women into legalized sex trafficking (strip clubs); and, illegal sex trafficking (escorts and massage parlors). The Detroit Metro Times neo-liberal sexist rag mag can be found in outboxes littering pubic sidewalks throughout the Metro Detroit area. But, not if we can help it.

Within the past year of 2014-2015, the Metro Detroit Against Metro Times (MDAMT) and the Sex Trafficking Think Tank (ST3) in our struggle to end the demand-side of sex trafficking, asked the Grosse Pointe Park (GPP) city council and the GPP city attorney, Dennis Lavasseur, to ban the Detroit Metro Times from public sidewalks because it violates the:

  • GPP city ordinance against sexually explicit materials
  • Michigan State Law on Obscenity
  • 14th Amendment right for all women to be free from sexual discrimination
  • United Nations Palermo Protocol anti human trafficking treaty.

The GPP city attorney Lavasseur and the GPP city council argued that a ban of the Detroit Metro Times magazine was in violation of 1st Amendment freedom of speech. The MDAMT asked them to prove that ban of this misogynistic magazine from public sidewalks was a violation of freedom of speech, but they could not. The MDAMT fully disagrees with their loaded freedom of speech argument. The MDAMT knows that this freedom of speech argument is really code for the right of sex trafficking perpetrators and their sexist propagandists to sell women into illegal and legal sex trafficking.

The MDAMT decided that the GPP city council and attorney should surely know, that as commercial speech, the Detroit Metro Times tabloid which is mostly advertising can be regulated to time, place and manner. Because of our knowledge about commercial speech, the MDAMT created an ordinance to regulate the Detroit Metro Times tabloid. We created an ordinance to push the Detroit Metro Times tabloid outboxes 2000 feet away from grade schools. MDAMT used the legal argument that because the Detroit Metro Times commercial sexist sex ads were commercial speech, that it could then be regulated to time, place, and manner, rationally related to any legitimate government interest.

GPP Attorney Lavasseur and the GPP city council morons unanimously and disingenuously agreed, including the women on the council, that the Detroit Metro Times tabloid’s sexist sex ads:

  • met community standards
  • to disregard the Grosse Pointe School Superintendent’s support for the ordinance
  • were protected by First Amendment freedom of speech
  • not a violation of Michigan’s Obscenity Law
  • not a form of sexual discrimination against women as a group
  • and not a violation of the international law (the law of the land).

The GPP city council and attorney regarded as insignificant, the First Amendment’s commercial speech law, which clearly states that commercial speech CAN be regulated to time, place, and matter. They keep treating the sex ads as political speech, subject to strict scrutiny; but it is non-speech conduct, solicitation, and commercial speech. They disregarded the Michigan state law on obscenity, the 14th amendment for women to be free from sexual discrimination, and the UN Palermo Protocol international treaty definition against human trafficking. These city council tyrants deny the law over and over again with no consequences.

The GPP attorney and his henchmen and henchwomen Freedom of Speech Absolutists showed no respect for the law and no respect for the expertise of the Sex Trafficking Think Tank and the Metro Detroit Against Metro Times anti-sex trafficking. These Freedom of Speech Absolutists GPP city council and attorney, in order to circumvent the laws, incessantly argued for freedom of speech. It is interesting how these Freedom of Speech Worshipers, would not let us Anti-Sex Trafficking Activists get in a word edgewise. They are Hypocrites.

The march goes on. New strategies are being implemented.

Challenges for the Detroit Metro Time tabloid

Challenge the Detroit Metro Times tabloid that since they are bigoted toward one group, women, then to be equally as bigoted toward other historically discriminated groups as they are toward women. The Metro Times places sex ads that sell women into the patriarchal Capitalistic commercial sex trade. These sex ads are are mainly of images of women in fuck-ready poses.

How about ask Metro Times to be as racist as they are sexist, quantitatively and qualitatively? Or, as ask them to be as anti-semetic as they are sexist, quantitatively and qualitatively? Why don’t they become equal opportunist oppressors? Or, equal opportunity bigots? Is it that they don’t have the balls? If there was profit waiting around the corner as there is for being sexist, would they then practice equal opportunity discrimination? Or, not because Jews would give them a mouth-full? Or, blacks would give them a fist-full? How come 99% of their commercial sex ads are never of consenting men in fuck-me ready poses?

Metro Detroit Against Metro Tims: Another Tactic December 19, 2014

Re: Struggle against the Detroit Metro Times Magazine/ Misogyny Times Magazine

As you recall, last Summer into the Fall, the first ordinance that Metro Detroit Against Metro Times (MDAMT) proposed to the Grosse Pointes was to ban the Metro Times/Misogyny Times magazine because it publishes sex ads. Sex ads, serve as a portal to sex trafficking and gender discrimination, negatively impacting not only the so-called “consenting” women, but the rest of us women.

None of the cities agreed to ban the Metro Times/Misogyny Times magazine. City councils argued freedom of speech. But, I learned from the Kaplan Bar Review 2013 and Cornell Law School Journal that commercial speech can be regulated to time, place, and manner, unlike political speech. We know that the sex ads in the Metro Times/Misogyny Times magazine are commercial speech, not political; therefore, can be regulated to time, place, and manner. The Metro Times/Misogyny Times magazine is about 85 % commercial advertising with some bankrupt political commentary—much like Playboy magazine. Therefore, I created a 2nd Ordnance that was narrowed to time, place, and manner. The 2nd Ordinance suggested that we restrict the Metro Times/Misogyny Times magazine to be 2000 ft away from residential areas. The city attorneys once again argued that due to so-called “freedom of speech, case law, and no money to fight a law suit”, their hands are tied. MDAMT decided to create a more tailored 3rd Ordinance most consistent with the logic of the legal journals, suggesting that commercial propaganda (magazine, tabloid, or newspapers) Outboxes that carried sexually explicit material (included sex ads) could not exist within 2000 feet of K – 12 schools.

The city attorneys stated that due to their so-called “research” they don’t have enough case studies to back them up and that they found out that they can’t even regulate it to time, place, and manner, no matter how much I tailored the Ordinance. They reminded by that there is no money for a law suit. I wonder how diligent they were in investigating statutory and case law? What statutory and case law did they find? What statutory and case law they did not find? And, why do we even have law journals comparing the differences between commercial speech versus political speech, if this comparison means nothing in the real world? I am not a legal scholar, but I sure am no dummy. I, therefore, asked the city attorneys to provide transparency of their “research”. They would not provide any transparency or balls. They argued basically that the cities do not have the money to fight a lawsuit if one should occur, period. Now, I don’t see the Metro Times/Misogyny Times suing the libraries for putting it’s sexist rag magazine behind the front desks. Furthermore, it is interesting how much money the cities have for other projects, but all of the sudden, they don’t have the money for a law suit when it comes to lives of women and girls.

For perspective sake!

If some colonialists distributed magazines on the land of the Iroquois Indians that advertised the bodies of so-called “consenting” Iroquois Indians for sale to white people, you better believe the Iroquois would not only BAN that hate speech, but would meet those propagandists with Bow and Arrow.

Or, if some company distributed their so-called “progressive” magazine that advertised the bodies of so-called “consenting” black people to white people for white people to degrade them in Minstrel Shows, you better believe those distribution points would immediately be cut off by Mobs of Angry Protesters.

Diversity for who?

Reflecting back at the October, 2014 Grosse Pointe Park City Council meeting, a Diversity Lady (DL) supported the city keeping the Metro Times/Misogyny Times magazine. The DL argued that you can’t prove that those sex ads are selling women into the sex trade. The DL stated that Bashara’s sex dungeon was not something that people got wigged out about so why get wigged out about the Metro Times/Misogyny Times magazine. The DL said that kids are not looking at those sex ads. I argued that, “I know kids who are looking at the sex ads and calling them up.” A hot-headed guy protecting her from my “insult”, gave me a dirty piercing look. The DL said that until something happens, then we should keep it. I said, “Like another sex dungeon?” The DL’s protector guy now with adrenaline pumping through his veins, gave me a vicious look and physical demeanor of blocking my view of her, until she could finish her defense of that sexist rag magazine.

At the December 2014 Grosse Pointe Park City Council meeting, in response to my Ordinance to keep the Metro Times 2000 feet away from grade schools, three Diversity ladies verbally attacked me in the parking lot. These Diversity ladies told me that I need to “Get a life!”, “Those women choose to do that work, how dare you dictate to them what to do with their lives!”, and incessantly referred to me as “Sexually repressed!” At first I felt furious about their verbal attack of me and of their obedience to the Metro Times/Misogyny Times magazine and I gave them a few words, but my clinical social worker side of me, later realized that these women were projecting their own thoughts about themselves onto me.

In any case, I thought that Diversity people were supposed to understand systems of oppression and how they are interrelated. But, it seems that the group WOMEN are excluded from the so-called Diversity group’s definition of “diversity”. I find the Diversity women’s defense of Metro Times/Misogyny Times magazine to be Orwellian, mostly because they are woman, secondly because a Diversity Group are supposed to be inclusive.

In January 2015, I plan on attending the Grosse Pointe Park City Council meeting one more time to give the Grosse Pointe Park City Counsel and the Diversity Group a piece of my mind. Stay tuned for next plan of action!

Metro Detroit Against Metro Times other Former tactic

On Oct 27th, 2014 we went back to the Grosse Pointe Park City Council with an official proposal and educational materials on commercial speech to back me up and protect me from my opponents trickery. The Grosse Pointe Park city attorney, Dennis Lavasier argued that this proposal could not past constitutional muster. But, when asked how so, he could not back him self up, neither with statutory law nor with case law. Lavasier angrily responded that he has 20 years of experience. Whippy Do! Lavasier argued that because there is political speech in the Detroit Metro Times, that are hands are tied. However, his reasoning is wrong because the new ordinance was targeting sex ads where ever they appear. If the Metro Times wants to get rid of the sex ads, then fine, their political speech can be protected. This ordinance was about regulating all sex ads, even if it was the Detroit Free Press, even if written or graphic pictures.

Metro Detroit Against Metro Times Former tactic

In the recent past, the Metro Detroit Against Metro Times first attempt was to get the Grosse Pointe(s) City Council members to agree to eliminate the Detroit Metro Times from our community because of it’s sex ads. Many of my post-modernist opponents argued that you can’t prove that sex ads are selling sex. My argument is if it walks like a duck, quacks like a duck, and looks like a duck, it is probably a duck. My opponents argued that the sex ads were “Freedom of Speech” as if protected political speech. I argued that sex ads fell under the scope of commercial speech because they are commercial advertising, not political speech, and that commercial speech can be regulated according to the Supreme Court (a definition can be found on the internet via Cornell University Law School.)
